1-dollar note

"Dear,

Where art thou, my fine and lovely one?
I've dreamt of you - for days a many!
The one, white and bright as the sun;
Hell you're worth, every dime and penny!

Like a silky stream, your sweetness will flow,
Overwhelmingly it does, needless to say.
Vaguely I remember, I want to forget you slow,
Effort I will put in, to get you, my Tau Huey.

Costal Cruise

by Sim Jinwei

When I heave, and when I sigh.
When things get tough, I'd love to fly,
By cruising alone, along the coast,
Green'd be the colour that excites me most.

The orange circles whiz by, like butterflies,
Their amber glow, like a thousand eyes.
So do the white lines, they zoom behind,
Sometimes I wish, for the answers I'd find.

They slow me down, the curving bends,
But quickens my worries, to reach their ends.
Inviting they are, the long straight stretch,
Worldly thoughts, from me to break and detach.

The exhilerating feeling, the silent winds cause,
Calm the senses, and erase my flaws.
It smells so good, I take a breath,
I hereby sentense, sadness to death.

The noises in my head, are creating a din.
Anybody, care to join me for a spin?

The Stupid Knight

by Sim Jinwei

I sat down, beneath this big oak tree, and started to write..

There was, this princess, once upon a time.
Her beauty was unrivalled, nobody could mime.
In the castle, she lived, very much alone,
Nobody to talk to, not even a phone.

Knowing her plight, a knight set out,
Inside his heart, he knew without a doubt,
Loving her was, after all his ultimate destiny.
It seemed surreal, but he vowed to make it reality.

Key to your heart, reaching the castle he proclaimed,
Everything you've ever wanted, nothing will be the same!
Yet despite all his efforts, it all seemed grey,
Only to hear, his voices the walls would ricochet.

Underneath that big oak tree, I laughed at the stupid knight.

First April

This time last last year, on that very day,
A turning point in our lives, as they would say.
I awoke abruptly, as the day was here,
My eyes showed calm, who knew they hid fear?

I looked at myself at the mirror, before I left,
And wondered if, I would be the victim of theft.
Of things I've never really treasured,
Only to realise they mattered when measured.

The bag which weighed upon me, was it heavy or what?
Or was it that sinking, burning feeling in my heart?
We reached, the place where families all came,
Words unspoken, but the feelings the same.

I didn't know what to say to her on the phone.
It was blank, all that mattered was the tone.
She cried that day, after that phone call.
I wish she didn't, because I would fall.

We all arrived, at this god forsaken land.
For country, they said, we would learn to fend.
The oath, the contract that bound all of us,
To serve unconditionally, we will thus.

I will always remember, as we bid farewell, that sight.
I will always remember, 50 people lay awake, nobody slept that night.
I will always remember, 1st of April, this day, that date.
The day that changed my life, my world, my fate.

My Box Of Mysteries

The box of mysteries, like its name suggests,
Is full of mysteries, and your dream manifests.

Surreal, unknown but powerful,
Your very own secret tool!

Dispellere the starryless nights,
Behold the breath taking sights!

Exciting yet cautiously wary,
Of the evil the box may carry.

Open it and rainbows fill the skies,
Close it; it'll take a few tries.

For the beauty is there without discrete,
Why arent you simply embracing it?

The reason is difficult, however clear.
That its not anything but fear.

Sigh.
Try?

My box of mysteries, unlike its name suggests,
Isnt full of mysteries, but it may be where your dream rests.

February's Ending Journey

The path I walked this morning,
Was long and vastly bare.
I thought I had this feeling,
Where peace and comfort pair.

But they were wrongs!
As I found out.
It came in Throngs!
I had to shout.

Why? Why me?!
Art thou too free?

To pester me with these endless pricks.
The pangs, are they your usual tricks?

I wish I knew the answers to all,
But clues were few, the hints appal.

So I gropped and ran, towards the end.
What? the end? I actually knew?
This left? This turn, Or pass this cuving bend?
Behind this road, beyond that hill?

I need the answers, I need the truth!
Before my destination, which i kept always in sight.
Only to realise I had only to disprove
That at the end of the tunnel there is no light.

I stopped, so suddenly,
A step no further.
And all I happened to see,
Was this lonesome flower.

Pick me! Pick me!
It said with glee.

You're crazy! I said, to the yellow one.
You'll die! Without the soil and sun.

But its boring here! I have no friends!
I stood there, aloof, it made some sense.

Before I knew it, I was where I was to be
To regain myself, I had to pause.
To think through this journey, it was no feat lightly.
The reason, the pain, and their undenying cause.

When will it be the time?
Where things all start to rhyme?

Or when it would not have to cower,
That poor, lonely little flower.

Undying Presence

When the clouds traverse the darkened skies,
The cresence, unseen, a slouching soul.
Her hands so cold, her silent cries,
I wish I knew, the stories untold.

The stars appear, to witness her trudge,
On the endless roads, to an endless place.
I wish, she could feel, my careful touch,
The touch to heal, a wearied face.

Alas, eventually the orange streaks will always spill,
Onto the shoulders, of the horizon ends.
The skies light up, and the colours fill,
The lush green leaves, the beautiful scents.

She opens her eyes, to see a sight,
The shuffling wind, replaced by the birdies' sing.
The tears agone, gone with the night,
But I've always been there, for I am Spring.

And a Spring, at night, will still be Spring.

I took around 1hour plus for this one, and it goes to Clara

Fireworks@Yishun

Basically the fireworks that were captured by my humble camera =)
PURE RAW FIREPOWER.

Celebration@Yishun

We started out, by dressing up the dog! What else but red colour.

Hi there!

NDP stands for National Dog Parade! or so Fa Cai says.

From afar we could see many have already gathered.

Business was good, judging from the crowd, but not quite according to Dad, because people were just sitting and idling around after just buying some drinks.

Ahh. We Spotted the Fireworks!

A sea of Red. and White in the background, to make the Singapore flag.

Some Choir members entertaining the crowd.

Dancers practising before their turn. Old and Young alike!

Moving on, i saw a group of Malay traditional dancers.

And i saw this man trying to teach a boy how to juggle the "yo-yo" like play-thingy.

MPs! My mum went gaga over Mr Ong Ah Heng. "Boy ah! Take his picture quick. Heh.

Not long after a car stopped near us and this girl, whom i later found out to be Khaw Chun Ting, stepped out and started shaking their hands, followed shortly by the other family members. She, according to Sis, is from her next door class and in AJ squash, and shes MOH's daughter.
Royalty!
Well to be sure i caught her attention i stood there and sure enough, she glanced over. That look! I was quite sure that the information captured in her recepticals was converted into bouts of anxiety proclaiming i was her prince charming, but then again i was more sure that light had somehow passed through opaque me, and what she saw was the big giant Yo-yo at my 6 o'clock.

The first booth i came to was the RSAF booth.

Then moving on closer to Yishun 10, there were these playground like balloons for kids. And Reverse Bungee! One kid tried and he didnt manage 3 stories.

The weapons shooting gallery. They used blanks and the TES (Technical electronic system i think) to project flight of bullet like the ones i used in ATEC Thailand. Surprisingly the firing of blanks were soft.

There we are, Animal targets in the Jungle. (For kids i guess)

Ahhh. This was the Giant Yoyo i was talking about. The one that could reflect gamma ray and somehow converted them into visible light.

I happened to chance upon these group of Inline Skaters when there were performing.

I took quite a long video, but their performance was nothing special, albeit all their skills on blades.

Then i saw this officer helping this little girl familiarise herself with a military vehicle. Hmmm.

Where else? Of cause at the SAF Engineers booth.

There was even a rock climbing section. Those are civilian untrained kids mind you.

Moving on there is the SCDF, Singapore Civil Defence Force.

And we have a small kid here learning how to spray water. Great.

What so interesting about this piece of metal that goes on land and water anyway?

If that wasn't interesting, this would be worse.

Ahh. Lastly the Army Logistics. I was wearing my white Commander's Logistics polo-Tee.

Big man on stilts! Beat 'em up. What some people attempted to do anyway.

This guy must be wondering what the hell am i doing going around taking photographs. Even of his kite. Well heres the answer. Its for my blog!

Some Indian dancers performing.

I was back at base! Fa Cai obviously missed me =)

And thereafter i saw Hui Min! Never expected to see her, then i didnt realise she was with some AMB people, and i actually saw through Joshua. Who would notice a guy anyway.

Fighters! Hmm. My camera is lousy dont mind the small planes.

Finally the sun sets. A nice picture here if i might say.

The end of the day's sunny events, and the night will be next.

Fireworks up next, at around 8.15pm. Catch them here

Up next we had performances and stuff. Highlight of the night. Twins! OMG. My favourite! Well not exactly but Gillian is pretty! Cant say much about her character though.

Lousy pictures i took, unlike my Dad's

Mobile Column driving past. They even demonstrated a fire fighting, but somehow even after they left the fire refused to go. I felt that was a lil. er. *Johnny Depp voice* Wierd.

Tanya Chua!

And Boring Nicholas Tse. zzzz. ^^

Thats all. I went home at 10 plus. And nope. We had no fate this time round i didnt see you =)
